Win a Free Month in Granada, Nicaragua

March 8, 2013 by FutureExpat

Win a Free Month in Granada, Nicaragua

Granada, Nicaragua town squareGranada, Nicaragua. It’s a charming Colonial city on the shores of beautiful Lake Nicaragua. Home to the iconic yellow cathedral, it’s a place expats like to call home.

And you have a chance to spend a month there. Free. In fact, International Living is so eager to have you test drive Granada that they’ll give you spending money as well!

Last year they gave away a trip to Cuenca, Ecuador. This year, it’s Granada.

Who?

“One lucky winner (along with a spouse or friend) will win a four-week stay in Granada, Nicaragua—free.”

Where?

“Nicaragua is one of International Living’s top retirement havens for 2013—and one of the best-value destinations on our beat. The colonial city of Granada is a community we recommend most enthusiastically. A town embracing rejuvenation, today you’ll find there nice restaurants and cafes, an active town square, lovely cathedrals, and pastel-splashed colonial homes that hide garden-filled courtyards. Granada is well-located along the banks of Lake Nicaragua, just two hours from Pacific-coast beaches.”

“During the month, our winner will also receive a weekend away (for two) at Rancho Santana, an upscale Pacific-coast resort Forbes has called “simply stunning.” It boasts five sandy beaches and ample ranchland for horseback riding and hiking. You can swim, surf, fish, or just relax. The ranch will provide transportation to and from Granada, two nights in a 2-bedroom villa near the main clubhouse, and a complimentary horseback ride and spa treatment per person.”

What?

“We’ll give the winner of our “Win Your Dream Retirement Overseas” Competition —

  • Round-trip airfare (for two) to Nicaragua from his or her “home city” in the United States or Canada.
  • A four-week stay in a furnished home in historic Granada, Nicaragua, rent paid.
  • $1,500 spending money to fund a comfortable overseas retirement for a month.

“Nicaragua is one of the best-value retirement destinations on the planet today. In Granada, expats on the ground report a couple can live well on $1,200 a month, housing costs included. We’ll give the winner $1,500 to fund a month’s expenses, in addition to covering the cost of rent.”

How?

To enter the “Win Your Dream Retirement Overseas” Competition, do this:

  1. Post a video to YouTube (no more than 3 minutes in length) explaining why you would like to retire overseas – and try a one-month test-drive in Granada, Nicaragua.
    • Please start the video with this sentence: “I’d/we’d like to win a dream test-drive retirement overseas with International Living because…”
    • If you’re entering the competition as a couple, then both of you should feature in this video.
  2. Once your video is uploaded to YouTube, use this form to submit to International Living the link to your video and give us your contact details.

Please note that only one video per entry is allowed.

When?

“You must use the form on this page to submit your YouTube video link to International Living by midnight EST on April 2, 2013.

“Candidates must be ready to start their new life overseas with this one-month test-drive before the end of 2013.

“Winners will be announced on International Living’s website and in our free daily postcard e-letter on May 30, 2013.”

You can find complete contest rules here.
