Big Fat Disclaimer
If you click on a link that leads to Amazon.com and actually buy a book, DVD, or whatever, I’ll make a few pennies. If you click on a link from an advertisement and actually buy something, I’ll make a few pennies. If I have a link within some text that takes you to a site that sells something and you buy from them, I’ll make a few pennies. I will only use that type of text link when I have personally bought the product or used the service and honestly feel I can recommend it.
If you hire me to write copy for you, install your WordPress blog, or host your website, I’ll make more than a few pennies, and you’ll be helping me in my goal of creating a location-independent income stream to finance my new life overseas.

I saw your comment in ProBlogger site. I’m not sure when you wrote this disclaimer, did you see what the FTC said in one of the videos that I just posted in my site yesterday? I was really concerned and even have removed some posts from my site after the FTC announcement. But after listen to Mary Engle of FTC’s video presentation, I think that requirement was not as severe as what I thought the first time I read the news back in October. What do you think?
Almost everyone that earnsmoney on the internet (even the millionaires) do so through affiliate marketing. Being successful in affiliate marketing involves applying the formula that makes other affiliate marketers successful. For instance, autoblogging. Autoblogging has been one of the least well-known forms of making money online for quite some time… basically because it’s quite difficult to make a good auto-blog. Yet, when done right, it can provide you with a perpetual passive income with the only real work required being the setting up process. Video Marketing, and several other marketing strategies are all designed to drive traffic to your site, can be incorporated gradually in order to raise the position your site appears in the search engine results page when any one searches for a term related to your site. And yet, even this can be totally automated.
Well, Dan, I don’t know about “almost everyone,” and I agree that money can be earned through affiliate marketing. However, the “auto blog” “passive income” model is one I personally find quite objectionable. My aim is to provide great content for my readers first and foremost. Yes, I do promote some affiliate links, but they are carefully selected and serve reader’s needs, not to create a fake audience to serve my needs.
